 How Light & Dark Works:

Light & Dark works in two passes. In the first pass, a given string
is translated into a pseudo code based on the rules for the barcode
type. The pseudo barcode contains zeros and ones, representing the
    empty or full strokes.

The second pass generates the printer graphic code out of the pseudo
    code.

Now the code is ready for sending to the printer.
